New Talent Showcase

A management agency, Ellsweig Management, in Hollywood is having a big industry showcase for new talent on Nov. 22. Seems Alan Ellsweig, the owner, had a "Jerry Maguire" moment and was upset that it was so hard for new talent to break into the industry because producers really only want established or name talent. So Alan Ellsweig is teaming up with another management powerhouse, The Marshak/Zachary company, to find new talent via this showcase. A manager friend of mine, Alan Mills, got my headshot in and I made it to the first round (this whole thing seems destined to be a TV show at some point - "America's Next Top Actor"!) which was an interview last night at 8:45pm. Didn't get in 'til around 9:45pm or so, but all went well and I came out of there with a slip of paper giving me the time and place for the next round, which consists of a monologue for director Greg Sobeck who will be choosing who gets to go to the next round, which is being paired with another actor to do a scene for the big showcase. We'll see how this goes. So far, everything seems to be sliding into place for me to do well at this showcase, and I'm feeling good. Will Jeff Schuetze move onto the next round of glory? Or have to walk the long walk of shame? Stay tuned!
