Polarrhoids
As I mentioned in a post several months back, I will be documenting the polaroids taken of me in casting offices by posting them on my blog. This is to show:1.) how hilariously bad audition polaroids can be as evidenced here
2.) how casting directors are trying to sabotage you*
The image above is one of the better polaroids I've had taken. Ever. It was from a bizarre Sprite audition I went on today that went really well. Hoping for a callback starting now.
I might start a page featuring the "best" audition polaroids from readers, so if you have one/some, email it/them to me with your name, project and date to jeff@monsteryou.com and I'll post them if I receive enough. Capture the image with your camera phone so it looks doubly bad.
*joking, yes. casting directors are lovely people who only have your best interests in mind, always.

Yeah I think commercial audition polaroids are second only to DMV photos in flattering-ness
smiles everyone!.....smiles!
In the entertainment industry, polaroids are a necessity because a lot of actors don't look like their headshots. If more actors looked like their headshots then we wouldn't have to take your polaroids. As usual, it's the actor who forced casting directors to resort to polaroids.
*whew* i'm glad i put that asterisk next to reason #2.
thanks for the comment. polaroids are a necessity to be sure - i've seen some headshots that make an ernest borgnine into a brad pitt. unfortunately, polaroids of me seem to capture images of some alternate, bizarro-universe version of me.

You look like your holding something in that desperately needs to be released...

by the way, check out the last comment left on my last blog, it's like someone knows me or something.
