Audition 9 - Nestle (04/30/04)

Wow. Those ladies at Stage 9 just completely rock. They have me lined up for a Nestle audition tomorrow. Now I wish that I could at least land a callback so that they know I'm working as hard as they are. Not sure what the deal is. My last two auditions kicked ass but I haven't heard anything from them yet. Hmmm...

Still don't know what that last audition was about, though. The full name was Neckermann Travel. Will have to Google that.

Audition 8 - Neckermann

Not sure what this is. Could be a commercial, could be a film, could be dinner theater. I don't know.

Audition 7 - Mercedes Industrial

This audition went great! Met a really cool actress, Amy Lien Pham, in the waiting room and we talked about the trials and tribulations of being half Asian/half white actors in Hollywood. Seems we share a lot of the same stories and frustrations. We got called in together for the audition and I thought we played off each other well and had good chemistry. Hopefully that came across through the videotape and we'll both get called back. After the audition we talked for a bit more and exchanged phone numbers with the intent to hang out. Us half-Asian actors gotta stick together. Amazingly, she lives in the Valley which is such a rarity among Los Angeles-based actors. Cool.

Half-Asian actors, unite!!!

Audition 6 - Honda Japan (4/23/04)

Back to Chelsea Studios today (where I auditioned for K Swiss) for an audition for Honda Japan. The commercial actually might shoot in Japan, so if I book this it would just be amazingly cool. I've wanted to go to Japan since I saw the anime, Akira in high school. Please, please, please.

Audition 5X - K Swiss (04/21/04)

Actually, this is the real Audition 5. When I showed up at the audition for Nike, I was told that they wanted real foreigners, not actors with accents, and was turned away. Good thing the K Swiss audition took place right before this one, otherwise it would have been a waste of my time and I would've taken off of work for nothing.

Audition 5 - Nike

Yippee! Madonna from Stage 9 just called. Don't have the details yet, Blossom's sending them soon, but apparently I have an audition tomorrow for Nike that shoots in Florida. Crossing fingers. Thinking positive thoughts.

Totally need to take a break from my job here. Love a lot of the people but just need to start my real career (acting, duh). Also could use a vacation and filming a commercial in Florida would not be too shabby.

Audition 4 - Burger King

Went to an audition for BK last Friday (April 16). Was alright. Had tried to memorize the script the day before and had rehearsed the thing to death, but when I actually auditioned for it, the script was changed a bit and the direction I received from the woman running the session changed my whole take on the commercial so I don't think my performance was all that good. Gotta remember to just be in the moment and not rely on rehearsal so much.

Was kinda cool though - the assistant taking polaroids and signing people in at the casting office was someone I'd met through my friend Michael. Her name's Megan and I'd seen her work in some sketch comedy type shows around Hollywood. Really funny and cute. She said she'd keep my headshot and give it to the casting agent, Kari Peyton, who is another awesome person I've met before. Networking at work! My poor audition notwithstanding, hopefully this connection will lead to more auditions and eventually, bookings.

Union dues

Sent in my SAG dues today. They were only $50 on account of the fact that I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING IN A DECADE!!! *grumble* *grumble* Not getting frustrated... not getting frustrated.

Nothing to report

Haven't been on an audition in weeks. Heard it's fairly slow in the business. My friend, Michael Cornacchia, just booked and did his first day of shooting for Six Feet Under as the guy who gets killed at the beginning. How cool would it be to be on that show? That show's in the top three I'd like to work on. Not sure what the other two are. Probably The Sopranos and Gilmore Girls.

Just finished a major project at work. It's an interactive training program for security officers. The company hired me about two years ago to create this program using Flash. I basically program, illustrate and animate the entire project myself (with a bit of voice-over work thrown in), and as of yesterday I'm pretty much done with it. Hopefully they'll have other projects for me to work on but you never know.

I'm gonna be a full-time actor soon anyway, so this shouldn't worry me too much. Now if I could just start auditioning regularly...
