Final Callback for the Bell

I was called in for the final callback of the Taco Bell commercial yesterday. It went very well. Although there were a few more names on the sign-in sheet than I would have liked (like 15 or so, but I can't be sure how many of them were up for the same part as me) I felt I did a kick-ass job in the audition, and left feeling totally buzzed and solid.

Since wardrobe is on Sunday, I should hear back either today or tomorrow.

So now I'm sitting here at work, waiting again. Lovely.

Waiting...

I'm trying not to get too excited about the Taco Bell commercial, but I really want it. Waiting for them to call while I'm working is very distracting. Urg.

Woo-Hoo! I am availed!

Today I received word from Stage 9 that I have been put on avail for a Taco Bell commercial. This is my first avail since I got back into this business so it's something of a milestone. I've been growing my hair out for a couple of months now, and it seems to be working - I think I've had 4/5 callbacks this year alone. That or I'm finally starting to figure out how to audition for commercials successfully...

Very happy. Fun to be excited. They're going to have one more callback (the 3rd, so far) and then they'll decide.

I could really use this commercial, on many levels.

New projects

It has been a productive week.

Wednesday night I brainstormed ideas for a short with a friend from acting class, Kurtis Bedford. Although the bs session wasn't quite as fruitful as I'd hoped, and it's still up in the air how well we can work together, we're both committed to doing something, so I remain hopeful.

Thursday John Keating and I met for dinner at Casa Vega in the Valley and talked about doing a comic book based on a script of his (we've bounced this idea around before, but last night I really felt like we had finally started the whole process beyond it being just a fun idea). I brought some preliminary sketches and we basically got each other really excited about doing it. I think we'll work well together. The comic excitement, and the hostess thinking we were gay were the highlights of the night. "Would you two like to sit on the same side of the table?" Classic.

Happy New Year

Well, this new year has started off pretty well. Have had two callbacks for commercials I auditioned for in 2004. One for Sprint Yellow Pages and one for Jack in the Box. Since I haven't heard anything since, I'm thinking I didn't get the part. But callbacks are good!

Tsunami crisis sucks, though. More than I'll even try to put down, here.
